Last week I wanted to have the new blog finished but life had another plan for me.
Thursday night - as I was pumping gas on my way to pick up my oldest son in OK for the weekend, Ava commences to hurl everything in her tummy and then some all over herself and her car seat. All I could do was watch from horror through the window as it all came out thinking "I'm supposed to be on my way right now! I can't believe this is happening."
I rushed home, threw her and Nico into the bath (she's gotten it on him as well - ack!), and as they played in the tub, I cleaned/disinfected/bleached her carseat like a demon. Finally after everything and everyone was cleaned, I was off to pick up the oldest.
Sunday EARLY morning, J woke up hurling and ...other things. Sick as a dog. Second person down.
Sunday night while I was on the road I get the call "Can you pick up some children's nausea medicine on the way home?" Ugh. As soon as I get home, Nico, upon seeing me enter is now crying, calling and reaching out for me and puking into a trash can. I relieved J and allowed him to go back to bed (he was still sick but recovering, exhausted from his illness) and stayed on the couch tending to Nico for most of the night.
Last night, although not severe, my 13 year old missed his final soccer game because of nausea and stomach cramps. He didn't end up letting anything out but he did fall into bed by 6:30 last night. Thankfully he was feeling better this morning.
What the heck is up?? Let's hope Momma doesn't catch it next.

That's bad. I hope everyone feels better. I always catch everything these guys get. I had a stomach flu this past week. I blame it on Adonis, he's been looking kinda sick lately. Take care of your family.
Oh no. I hope everyone is better and it didn't get to you too.
good grief! i hope everyone is feeling better, and that it skipped over you!
Thanks guys! I didn't catch it (knock on wood) and everyone is feeling better. Thank GOD! hahah Glad it happened BEFORE the holidays and before the family came down rather than during. :)
My only issue I have is my back. I needs a nice Mommy Massage. :) BEFORE the family comes. hahaha
Thanks again girls!
Yuck. I hope you don't catch whatever it is. Great post :)
Rania,
I need a massage too. It sounds like everyone is well again. We've had one sickness so far this season. Last year, everyone got sick once and we were done. I hope it happens (if we must get sick) like that again.
Your story was quite graphic and it sounds like you handled it like a pro. Oh, the perks of motherhood, puke and all.
Thank you Ladies and welcome to my blog!
I was lucky enough to have NOT caught the bug but I was exhausted nonetheless with caring for everyone and now I'm deep in the planning stages of Thanksgiving dinner. And I never did get that massage. siiighh... LOL
Yes, truly the perks of motherhood :)
