Wow, it's been a bit since I posted! Been enjoying the time off with family and friends and getting into the swing of 'back to life as usual'. Now that the kiddos are back in school, I've gotten somethings wrapped up, I thought I'd share some of my goals for 2011 with you.
1. Pay Off Big Portion of Debt by October
This is something we were doing really well with last year and the year before but somehow have allowed the balances to creep. We made a huge dent in one of J's cards recently and we're on our way! We don't have a lot, we just don't like to have it at all. But there is no way this can't be doable by third or last quarter.

2. Stay Close to Good Friends and Family
With the family life, craziness of work and the many changes of 2010, it's been more difficult to make time for my friends. I really want to make a more conscious effort to get together with them (sans kiddos) whether on the phone, in person or on a trip somewhere. I've always wanted to do a couple's trip with my best friend and a few other friends, so that may be on the horizon for this year :)
3. Be a Better and More Patient Mother
This is self explanatory. I truly have very little patience and I bore easily. My (now) 5 year old that is infectious to my 2 year old and having two little spider monkeys bouncing from wall to wall occasionally can wreck your nerves. I'm trying to be better about just letting it go and respond differently than I have in the past (a lot of yelling) and coming down to their level. Hopefully this will work.

4. Workout...For Real This Time
Per #3, I need the energy to keep up with my youngest. I'm not 20 anymore (regardless of what I may tell you people). I took the cue from Mrs. K and purchased Insanity. We are finishing out our first week and it's been really great (even the waking up every morning at 5:30!!)! I will post more about that later. My "workout" plan also includes eating healthier. I don't eat terribly now, but I do love my sugar. Gotta cut (some of) that out so I can at least feel more natural energy. Hey! Baby steps, ya'll!
5. Focus on my Creativity - Reading, Writing and Drawing
Again, another thing I have just let fall by the wayside that cannot continue to happen. My new blog will hopefully help to cure me of my inattention to my drawing and writing and concepting. I am SUPER excited about this and look forward to how it all evolves in the next coming months.
6. Make More Time for Family
The kids grow SO fast (as evidenced by my sheer inability to understand how I currently have two teenaged boys when it just seemed like yesterday they were both 4 and 6 running around the house making me laugh!). I don't want to blink and regret not spending all the time I can with my smallest ones. Before you know it, they will be teenagers, too.

7. Travel More
Again, work has always gotten in the way. But I swear...whether by plane, car or train, I want to see more new places and get to enjoy more of all this great country (and hopefully beyond) has to offer.
8. Plan for College
Start researching and prepping for my oldest for college and start looking into scholarships and grants. This is going to be a very hard and tedious job, but since I didn't do very well as saving for his college as a single mom, I had better up my game and help him secure the money to go. I'm scared AND excited. Wish us all luck!
So those are my things. There are a few more to focus on for business, but I'm sure you're not interested in those. :) Hope you all are on your way to managing your resolutions and making some good strides.
Happy New Year!

Woohoo...I am so glad you've started Insanity. I can't wait to hear more about your progress and what you think about it. Keep it up! You can do it :)
Great plans for the year
