Company Picnic

This past weekend my husband's company held a picnic. It has been raining so much the last few days in the Dallas area that we weren't sure if they'd have to cancel it but the weather was gracious enough for the entire day to cooperate. Although it was cloudy, the rain held off and the weather was still VERY warm and nice!

The picnic theme was Comic Book/Super Hero. They had great things for kids of all ages: a professional comic book illustrator, a flip book booth, airbrush tattoo station, a bounce house and a blow up obstacle course. Additionally there was a food truck dedicated to the party that provided unlimited mexican food, hamburgers and drinks. It was centered around the neighborhood playground which all the kids loved.
The silver bullet in the back, is where they had the cupcake desserts
Nom nom!
I believe this is actually their FIRST time on a merry-go-round.
The first time around, Ava fell off and landed on her back.
She was a trooper though and didn't cry. Got back on and held on tighter.
All Tatted Up
Funny...these totally represent their personalities
At the end of the day, Nicolas had 6 tattoos
He loved the obstacle course. He ran through it 3x straight :)

Picking out juuuust the right one...Choose wisely, grasshopper

Ava's second tattoo

Since it had been raining so much, they had tarps placed under the picnic blankets and on all of the picnic blankets there were free comic books and little baskets on various blankets with balls, frisbees, etc. for the kids and parents to play with. They had tables in front of the food truck that were decorated to represent Wonder Woman. So cute! Wish I'd taken a picture of it.
Getting his drawing done
Nico's Caricature - he was NOT happy
He hates the hair
I felt so bad for the caricaturist once he finished it because Nico was not shy about letting him know he was not digging his portrait! "Noooo!"... Seriously. That's what he said. It was like watching Star War when Darth Vader found out his wife and babies had died during childbirth. {Throwing head back, arms to side with fists clenched, "Noooooo...oooo...ooo....!"} Chill out, dude. It's okay. Really.
Enjoying one of the free comic books (pre-Caricature disappointment)
Daddy/Daughter waiting to video for the flip book
Weeeeeeee...!!!

Fun on the swings
Ava zonked out almost as soon as we got into the car.
Sweet dreams, baby girl.
